The Puzzle Master

When I was a little kid doing puzzles I would get frustrated if the pieces didn’t fit into the image the way I thought it should. If I struggled for too long, honey consider me all done, and the puzzle parts were going back into the box. I didn’t want to ask for help, I’d just fold.

On this walk, I feel like sometimes we have pieces of the puzzle but may not know how it all fits together yet. For many of us we just do not have the patience to let the right parts fall into place so we try to force the pieces to fit in where we think they should go. Did you ever do that as a child? Are you still doing that as an adult? No judgement, I think we all do. LOL I remember trying to hammer in a piece with my fist where it clearly did not belong, but I felt like, ehhh, it will work. When I did this, it completely threw off the image and made tears on some of the pieces. Those pieces were strategically cut to comfortably fit the other part, creating a whole image and here I was trying to reconstruct my own masterpiece 🤦🏾‍♀️.

“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:11‬ ‭

Speaking of doing this as an adult, from experience, one thing that I definitely have had to start standing on, is the fact that God is the puzzle🧩 master. The creator that has shaped and cut every piece of your life’s plan and purpose for you. The God who tailormade the picture/image you are trying to put together. How crazy is it that we don’t consult the creator of the puzzle while connecting the pieces that make it whole? Make us whole? Even though He is here, trying to instruct us on which piece fits where, here we are with out fist trying to hammer pieces in that don’t fit the picture. Trying to create our own ‘hot mess’ masterpiece.

When we start trying to piece things together without Him, we end up with a distorted image and scars from where we tried to put pieces in places where they do no belong. Has anyone ever experienced this? Boy how we can mess up the blessings of God by not heeding His instruction. When God told Abraham that he would bare a son, Sarah got impatient with the process. When she gave her maid to her husband, she created some scars and distorted the image of Gods plan, but how many of you know that God is able to put destiny back on the right track!?

Have you tried to force things in your life, only to end up hurt or defeated? What does your distorted image or scars look like? Has life ever, even if for a moment, shattered you to pieces where you felt like you didn’t know how you were going to be whole again. We make so many mistakes and sometimes lose our way and purpose. We step into things that we should not, and take on task/assignments that we were never meant to, forcing ourselves into images we weren’t meant to imitate and put parts in our lives where they don’t belong. In these places we end up torn, shamed, and in pieces.

There are many, who when they got to this place of a distorted image and scars, threw in the towel and called it quits, but can I encourage you that even if you feel your image is destroyed, God is able to bring the image back into view. Gods plan for you is not lost and there is hope! He can put things together where they fit because He has perfect vision and unmeasurable wisdom. And what He wants is your obedience and your yes! If the image is distorted, God wants to help you put it back together, not because we deserve it, but because He loves us, and His grace is sufficient. We are made whole in Christ.

and in Christ you have been brought to fullness… Colossians 2:10
